Am 02.07. werde ich in Berlin Tegel starten und in Newark Umsteigen um dann gegen 16:30 Uhr Ortszeit
in St. Louis/Missouri zu landen.
Am selben Tag hole ich den Mietwagen ab, da ich gleich nach Springfield/Missouri fahren werde. Dann
ist die nächste Etappe nach Oklahoma City nicht über 8 Stunden lang sondern nur gute 6 Stunden. Und ob ich nun eine Nacht in St. Louis oder Springfield verbringe ist egal.
Am 2. Tag werde ich dann größtenteils über die Route 66 nach Oklahoma City fahren
Am 3. Tag steht dann der Independence Day an. Endlich mal richtig diesen Tag amerikanisch feiern.
Am 4. Tag fahre ich wieder zurück nach Springfield. Hier werde ich in einem Hotel/Motel übernachten,
in dem ich bereits 2014 auf meiner Route 66 Tour übernachtet habe. Das wollte ich mir unbedingt gönnen.
Am 5. Tag geht es dann weiter nach Indianapolis, besser gesagt nach Shelbyville/Indiana. Hier steht
nur die Übernachtung an. Je nachdem wie lange ich brauche, werde ich mir noch etwas in Indianapolis anschauen.
Am 6. Tag geht es dann weiter nach Cleveland/Ohio. Hier gebe ich meinen Mietwagen ab und übernachte
in der Nähe der Bahnstation da...
.... am 7. Tag mein Zug um kurz vor 6 Uhr nach NYC losfährt. Da ich dann eh schon früh aufstehen
muss wollte ich nicht auch noch so weit laufen. 😁 Ich werde dann gegen 18:30 Uhr in NYC ankommen. Mein Hotel dort, das Chelsea Savoy, ist nur einige Gehminuten von der PennStation an der ich
ankomme entfernt. Dieses Hotel ist recht zentral, Metro Station ist in der Nähe, viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind schnell zu Fuß zu erreichen und der Preis war super, 787 €. Die meisten anderen
waren nicht unter 1.000 € zu bekommen.
Die Tage 8 - 12 werde ich komplett in NYC verbringen.
Am 13. Tag geht`s dann wieder zurück nach Deutschland mit Umstieg in Frankfurt.
On 2nd of July I will start in Berlin Tegel and change in Newark and land at 4:30 p.m. in St. Louis/Missouri.
On the same day I will pick up my rental car because I'll drive to Springfield/Missouri on this day. So the next stage to Oklahoma City will be an 6 hour drive instead of an 8 hour drive. And
it doesn't matter if I'll sleep a night in St. Louis or in Springfield.
On the second day I'll drive the most time on the Route 66 to Oklahoma City.
On the third day there will be the Independence Day. Finally I can celebrate this day like the americans do with a great family.
On the fourth day I'll drive back to Springfield. There I'll sleep in a Hotel/Motel were I slept on my Route 66 Tour in 2014. I wanted to allow myself this.
On the fifth day I'll drive to Indianapolis respectively Shelbyville/Indiana. There will be just the night. Depending on how long the drive will take I'll see something there in
Indianapolis.
On the sixth day I'll drive to Cleveland/Ohio. There I'll give back my rental car and sleep a night in a Hotel in the near of the Train station because....
.... on the seventh day my train will start a few minutes before 6 a.m. to NYC. Because I need to get up very early I don't want to walk a long way. 😁 I will arrive in NYC at approx. 6:30
p.m. My Hotel there, the Chelsea Savoy, is just a few minutes by feed away from the PennStation were I'll arrive. The Hotel is a pretty central one with a Metro Station and some sights in the
near just a few minutes to walk around and the price was great, under $1,000. All the other ones were over $1,300.
The days 8 to 12 I will stay completely in NYC.
On the 13th day I will fly back to Berlin over Frankfurt
