Kosten / Costs

Hier nun meine Kosten:

  • Flug: 652, 52 € (Hin- und Rückflug Berlin - NYC - Berlin, inkl. Reiseversicherung)
  • Mietwagen: 640, 17 € (für 13 Tage)
  • Hotels: 1.018, 85 € (das teuerste war in Wakefield bei Boston mit 177,58 €, das günstigste in Dover mit 62,43 €)
  • Verpflegung, Tanken, Souvenirs, Eintritte: 597,55 €

Ca. 20 Minuten Autofahrt entfernt in Wakefield.

Because I'm a number cruncher and because I want to know what the vacation had cost, I made a list of all costs of the vacation.

This could be a could point for you to see what a trip like this will cost per person. But think about that all datas are from 2017. Currently it could be more. Also you can have some differences of the prices of the hotels if you aren't traveling alone. When you are travelling alone often you'll get a double room but you have to pay the same price. When you are travelling with another one you can split the price. So, comparing will save you money.

Now here are my costs:

  • Fly: $740.06 (Fly Berlin - NYC - Berlin incl. travel insurance)
  • Rental Car: $726.05 (for 13 days)
  • Hotels: $1,155.53 (most expensive one was in Wakefield near Boston with $201.40, the most favorable was in Dover with $70.81)
  • Meals, refueling, souvenirs, admissions: $677,71

Over all I paid for the whole vacation: $3,299.35.

So I was under the limit of $3,000. But I didn't renounced something to stay in this limit. I did a normal vacation. Didn't waste money but I also didn't save the money in a excessive way.

I couldn't book the hotels directly in Boston and Washington D.C. because the hotels with parking were booked out or the prices were sassy. So I booked a hotel outside of Boston. Approx. 20 minutes driving with the car in Wakefield. In Washington D.C. I booked the hotel in Arlington. From there I got to the city with the Metro. It was the best way and it was fast. So it could worth to have a look outside the city.

At the end I drove with the car about: 2,125 mi
